A water-soluble concentrate based on modified, inorganic potassium compounds that protects wood against fire. Does not corrode steel. Lowers the freezing point of the working solution to -7°C. Properly secured wood, in accordance with the National Technical Assessment of ITB, is a non-combustible material.

APPLICATION: The KUPRAFUNG® - FLAME RATARDANT impregnation is intended for fire protection of construction elements made of wood with a density of not more than 890 kg/m3 (excluding exotic wood), used outside and inside residential, commercial and public buildings, with a thickness of at least 16mm. Wooden elements with a thickness of at least 16 mm, used with or without an air gap, fastened to sleepers with A1 or A2 fire ratings, according to PN-EN 13501-1: 2019, protected with KUPRAFUNG® - FIRE RETARDANT impregnation, covered by the National Technical Assessment, applied by surface method (spreading-painting, spraying or bathing), were classified in class B-s2, d0 reaction to fire according to the PN-EN 13501-1:2019 standard and as non-flammable, non-dripping and non fire-spreading (NRO) inside buildings, based on the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 12 April 2002 on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1065, as amended) as non fire-degradable.     SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
  • 1 Elements to be impregnated must be clean and dry.
  • 2 Remove old, damaged coats of paint and varnish using DRAGON "Paint and varnish remover" and degrease with e.g. DRAGON "Acetone".
    • Application:
    Dissolve the entire contents of the package in water in the following quantity: for 1 kg of the agent, use 6 L of water.
  • 1 Apply the resulting 15% solution to the wood by painting it several times, soaking it in a bathtub or spraying it.
    Product consumption required:
  • 1 Irrespective of the application method used, the minimum consumption required by the National Technical Assessment is 230 g/m2 of the surface for wooden construction elements, calculated for 100% powder.
    • Corresponds to the consumption of the working solution:
  • 1 - immersion method - about 1.5 litres of working solution per 1 m² of wood surface
  • 2 - painting, spraying - about 1.5 litres of working solution per 1 m² of wood surface
    • The immersion time of the wood depends on: its geometry (surface to volume ratio), humidity, degree of devitalisation and other factors (e.g. ambient temperature).
  • 1 The immersion time should be monitored on an ongoing basis by observing the loss of the working solution.
  • 2 In case of impregnation by painting or spraying, use the previously calculated amount of working solution.

Security
  • Regulations on the storage of substances threatening ground and surface waters and soil should be complied with.
  • Do not allow the product to get into the soil, groundwater or surface water.
  • The protected wood should be protected against precipitation.
  • Impregnated wood, depending on the species, may change colour.
  • Therefore, prior to impregnation tests should be carried out, especially for wood types other than pine.
Storage and transport
  • The product should be transported and stored in its tightly closed, original packaging at a temperature between +5ºC and +30ºC, in such a way that unauthorised persons, especially children, do not have access to it.
